When Megapower’s Founders, Jo and Simon returned to Barbados in 2012, they wanted to buy an electric vehicle but no vehicle garage would import one.

Importing Barbados’ first electric car, a 2012 Nissan LEAF, was the catalyst that triggered Jo and Simon to recognise a distinct market opportunity – for electrified transport, powered by renewables. With the mounting interest in their electric car growing, Megapower Ltd. was formed in February 2013.

At the heart of Megapower is Jo and Simon’s desire to create solutions for the transport sector that reduce vehicle emissions, improve energy security, modernise the driving landscape, and create a convenient and enjoyable mobility experience.
